Still waiting,
Starting to get a bit worried now, I am just trying to keep thinking no news is good news and it can't be long now. Really annoying as people on the forums at http://www.fireservice.co.uk/ have already had their written tests for the next stage.

Still bloody waiting!!!!!!!! (but the ankle is getting better)
This is really starting to annoy me now,
Getting really annoyed with my postman turning up at whatever time seems to please him (it has been as late as 3pm in the last week). Not to mention i got some mail for a completely different street.
So considering this mail fiasco i'm considering ringing them to double check it has not been sent and lost.
I have been working the ankle in the gym and its getting stronger each day.
keep your fingers crossed for me please as i really want this career

Still waiting.....
But i went to a recruitment open day in Winsford on Saturday. This was very good and worth the effort of driving 70 miles. We were able to have a tour around a firestation that is on the the day crewed duty system which involves working 3 days 9-7 then being on call for the night and then having 3 days off. We got shown all the equipment on the pump and shown how the station recieves calls. Next was a session all about the interview including how to prepare for it and some questions that may be asked. We were then shown the physical tests and giving oportunity to try some of these. An instructor also gave us and example of the BA Crawl test and showed us a mask that has to be worn whilst doing this (when this mask is in front of your eyes you can only see blurred blobs of light and nothing is clear at all).
All in all a well spent few hours very much worthwhile going to

Still Waiting...........
How long is this going to take......
I am really fed up of waiting for my letter about my application now. But the ankle is getting better and I am thinking of going for a light jog sometime this week to see how it holds up.
Missing Rugby like hell and just want to get active again.
I have decided to go to a recruitment open day this weekend where i can be shown all the physical tests that have to passed. I am hoping this will give me a heads up on these tests and this would always look good if mentioned in an interview. but they are a long way off yet so not gonna look that far ahead.
Please Mr postman bring me a letter telling me good news soon

A bit about me
Well,
As said i am applying to be a firefighter. This is a complete career change for me but it is something i have ALWAYS dreamed of doing, I guess i just like helping people.
I have a 7 month old daughter who lights up my life and she (and the missus) is my life.
I am currently unable to do physical training due to injury but have a training program ready for when i can start again.
